Hi all and everyone

Our Quadrille Team put on a gallant display on Saturday and competed in an event which was probably the best I had ever seen.  There were 17 teams in all and the costumes were outstanding.  Our cunning plan to knobble the other teams by dazzling their horses with our bling didn’t quite work but we gave it a good try.

Next time we need to have a better floor plan with probably twice as many movements as the routines have really evolved from last year.  The costumes were in keeping with the others but there were some outstanding efforts, in particular aliens in space ships to name but one.

Our ground crew consisting of Claire’s complete family including dog, Angela’s family, plus Stephanie’s family ( Pete was chief filmer, and was taking quite a few canny shots, in other words catching us on the hop), were hugely important in getting the team dressed, sewn into their costumes and onto the horses in time.  Freya, Tori, and others including Kerri’s boyfriend (gazebo man) all helped in many ways. Gill had Kevin and Neil on hand for support, so a very big thanks you to you all. 

The Queenette’s ride did not quite go to plan, but Claire, Kerri, Gill and Angela will never forget it and will have many tales to tell their grand children. It was a very long day and we were all emotionally and physically drained by the time of presentation.

 I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you all for your efforts over the months and for putting up with my constant nagging and of course, the tannoy.  Twinkle is looking forward to next time when she will be wearing her own costume in support.

Angela and Claire beat 11 other pairs early Sunday morning and came 6th in their class.  They competed with sparkly feet as the glitter would not come off the horses hooves.

Lastly but not least, Claire then took Ted to Woodreddon Le Trec competition where they won out right, both classes they entered in. 

True to form and being ever consistent:  I riding my faithful steed (Fred or Golden Knight if you would like to be posh) came last in the class, but we achieved many points for style…….
