FAQs
What should you do if you wish to compete at club level?
• Don’t be frightened to put yourself forward - if you do not put yourself ‘out there’ then the team managers will not have you on their list of ‘riders’. This is not a closed list – all are welcome.
• When you join the club, indicate on the membership form that you wish to represent the club at club competitions.
• Make sure you look at the website diary to see when area competitions are being run, put them in your diary to ensure you are available.
• Let the team managers know by email which competitions you are interested in, that you would like to be on a team and that you will commit to being available. Team managers usually have to enter teams no later than 15 days before a competition so let the team managers know as soon as possible of your interest.
Take advantage of the clubs quality affordable training?
The Club has worked hard to instigate a rolling programme of quality affordable training. Obviously by attending the training sessions and clinics you will be raising your own profile and giving our instructors and team managers a good idea of what you can do. We are happy to listen to any suggestions for instructors.
How much does it cost to compete?
These costs vary but will be made known to you before you commit to competing for the club. You will be asked to pay your half – the match fee and then the club will pay the other half – the club entry fee. Usually, area competitions and friendlies cost less than regional and final competitions.
BRC Rules
British riding clubs have very strict rules for qualifying and championship competitions. To help us make sure there are no mistakes please take a look to at the current rules to ensure you can comply.
